Ways to Wear: For the Party Season
Good afternoon happy campers! December is well underway now, and I hear that some parts of the UK, you lucky lot, have had your first round of snow already. My guess is that your work/Uni/college Christmas parties are fast approaching, so I’ve put together some Looks, just for you to embrace the party season this year.
Less is not always more when it comes to nights out, despite what the likes of The Only Way is Essex and Made in Chelsea might tell you! (As a sidenote, has anyone caught an episode of Desperate Scousewives yet? Should I brave a viewing?!) If you’ve seen some of my previous Ways to Wear installments, you’ll know I take a fancy to seperates and layering over a simple dress; hopefully these Looks will broaden your festive outfit mind.

Look One is a fun outfit, perfect for a Christmas meal and drinks. I’m a sucker for black, but how gorgeous is this hot pink skirt? It’d look perfect with a casual vest or Tee, so you’re not too dressed up, and at just £7.99, you can’t go wrong. It also comes in a beautiful dark/dove grey colour as well. Pop a flashy ring on, some platform heels and a faux fur stole to finish the Look.
Wednesday Wish: River Island’s Khaki Hooded Parka

Less than a day to go until we can all start preparing for Christmas without feeling guilty! Just wanted to share this beautiful hooded parka from River Island, which is at the top of my imaginary Christmas list this year. Strange as many seem to find it, I never write a ‘real’ Christmas list and leave it in the pathway of my parents for them to find. I much prefer a surprise under the tree on the big day!
Absolutely love the olive/khaki green (someone settle the colour debate!) and the parka’s snuggly faux fur trim. Parka, there is definitely a place for you in my wardrobe! What are you wishing for this Christmas?
With Love, Michelle x

Ways to Wear: The Black Vest
Kick starting the Ways to Wear series is the ultimate wardrobe staple that you’ve probably had hanging around in the back of your wardrobe - or condemned to your pyjamas drawer: the black vest. Plain, functional, simple and typically cheap as chips, it can be so easy to overlook this piece. A black vest top is something that I’m sure 99.9% of my readers already own: I like to slip them under a top that could otherwise be inappropriate, just worn with jeans for a casual look, or sometimes as part of an evening look!

So let’s start with a simple Look: perfect for everyday, this Look incorporates your black vest with some berry tones. This Look is all about the shorts, and the accessories, which add dimension to the outfit, whether with the diamante fox ring, perched on your ring finger, or the studded slipper-esque shoes, which are a great version of Yves Saint Laurent’s velvet slippers. Not only are they perfectly on-trend and subtle enough to transition into next month’s trends (which hails ankle grazer trousers as Fashion God), they’ll make great talking points. “Oh this? It’s Topshop daaah-ling!” Finish off with some dainty, baby pink make-up and an oversized bow headband to keep it feminine.
